JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Optimization & Experiential Deployment will lead the strategic use, optimization, and deployment of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform at AOPA. This role will drive the delivery of high-impact marketing campaigns, ensuring operational excellence in email and digital campaign deployment, personalization, and member engagement. The Director will oversee a dedicated team responsible for campaign deployment, data collection and analysis, collaborate across departments, and leverage marketing technology to maximize member impact and satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic Platform Optimization:

    Develop and execute a comprehensive Salesforce Marketing Cloud strategy aligned with AOPA's marketing and member engagement objectives.

    Lead efforts to maximize platform capabilities, emphasizing automation, personalization, and data insights to enhance campaign performance and the overall member experience.

    Lead efforts in documenting the impact of SFMC optimization on member experience and organizational performance.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    Manage and mentor the campaign deployment team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on precision, speed, and results.

    Set performance goals, conduct regular feedback sessions, and provide opportunities for professional growth to strengthen team expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related tools.

  • Campaign Deployment Oversight:

    Oversee the end-to-end deployment of email and digital campaigns, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery, adherence to brand standards, and alignment with AOPA's objectives.

    Collaborate with content, design, and marketing teams to ensure campaigns are targeted, visually engaging, and optimized for member engagement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:

    Work closely with marketing, IT, and member services teams to ensure an integrated, omni-channel marketing approach across all member touchpoints.

    Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating strategic objectives into executable initiatives and communicating complex concepts clearly.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Performance Analysis:

    Define and monitor key performance metrics, utilizing insights from data analysis to refine strategies and improve campaign outcomes.

    Apply best practices in testing, segmentation, and reporting to evaluate and optimize campaign effectiveness.

    Oversee department-wide data compilation, reporting, and trend analysis, utilizing advanced analytics tools to identify patterns, forecast trends, and inform strategic decisions.

  • Training and Best Practices Development:

    Establish best practices for campaign deployment, data management, and member segmentation, ensuring the team follows industry standards and compliance protocols.

    Provide ongoing training and support to ensure staff are proficient in platform capabilities and leverage them effectively to achieve departmental goals.

    REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Minimum of 7-10 years in digital marketing or CRM management, focusing on Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
    • Demonstrated experience in campaign deployment management, digital marketing best practices, and quality control.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing a team of full-time staff.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
    • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple initiatives and team members in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Collaborative and strategic thinker with a passion for improving member experience through technology and data.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, fostering an engaged, results-driven team.
    • Skilled in managing vendor relationships, including vendor selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution to align with organizational goals and quality standards.
    • Adaptable, forward-thinking, and dedicated to delivering measurable impact.

    PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master's degree in marketing, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

    Preferred Licenses/Certifications:

    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    This position works in an office setting environment.

    Typical working hours are 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with an hour lunch break.

    Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when attending aviation related events, including exposure to higher altitudes and confined spaces if in a general aviation aircraft.

    This position requires some travel, possibly up to 15% of the time, to various general aviation or industry-related events. Travel is by aircraft (general aviation and commercial) and by road or public transit.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands of the Director, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Optimization & Deployment position are typical of a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:

    • Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
    • Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

    Additional position details:

    The salary range for this position is: $98,000 - $118,000 depending on education and experience.
