Overview

The Director will have a dual role requiring expertise in paid search and paid social media. They will serve as a strategic, passionate leader and critical influencers for Canvas's Search and Social efforts.

This role will report to a VP who supports multiple clients across the agency. The Director will oversee their client's strategy development, activation, and performance across these channels.

Responsibilities

Account Stewardship

  • Drive strategic account development and identify short- and long-term opportunities for growth.
  • Lead client and partner interactions, including presentations and strategic reviews.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of client business, anticipates client needs, and integrates these considerations into the Search and Social approach and the overall media strategy.
  • Keep abreast of current events and digital trends that may impact the client's business.
  • Foster integration and coordination with other Canvas departments

Planning

Lead the development of strategies and tactics that best meet the client's objectives for annual and flighted initiatives.

  • Oversee budget and performance projections.
  • Evaluate new targeting and creative offerings from media partners
  • Partner with key stakeholders in identifying creative asset improvements
  • Map out learning agendas

Team Management

  • Serve as a resource for the team on Search and Social best practices and the client's business and industry specifics.
  • Interview, train, mentor, and develop team members
  • Provide overall guidance, process improvement, and methods of standardization for the internal team, partner, and client workflows

Data & Insights

  • Showcase campaign performance and learnings to key stakeholders in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manner
  • Collaborate with partners and Analytics team on measurement plans
  • Ensure that learnings or best practices are incorporated across partners and campaigns

Qualifications

  • 8+ years combined SEM & Paid Social experience in managing large-scale, complex Paid Search and Paid Social campaigns
  • Expertise in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snap, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant platforms and API management platforms, i.e., Search Ads 360, Facebook/Instagram Bid Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, Snapchat Open API, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.
  • Understanding of attribution models
  • Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Possess strong leadership experience, preferably leading teams of 10 or more individual contributors.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience presenting to clients and senior management
  • Builds collaborative relationships with peers across the organization
  • Demonstration of process development and implementation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of the role and interplay across media channels such as Display, Video, Social, and Search
  • Bachelor's Degree

Salary and Benefits

Experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity factors determine actual base salary. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
