Job Description:
Description CME Inc is launching a new Securities Clearing House, which will initially launch clearing services for cash treasuries as well as Bilateral and Tri-party Repo. The Director Securities Clearing Operations & Risk position will work with the broader team to build and design operational workflows, operational risk governance, and technology integration with market participants. The role will be responsible for directing global teams during US business hours and will be responsible for ensuring CME Securities Clearing monitors, escalates and mitigates risks during its daily processing of all critical clearing operations and risk functions. This position will be required to lead and execute short, medium and long term division projects as well as directing the training and development of staff to perform in accordance with our operational and risk management needs as defined by SEC regulations. Principal Accountabilities:
  • Assist in design and implementation of Securities Clearing operational workflows and system testing to support the launch of a new securities clearing house
  • Oversee a team responsible for day to day securities operations including trade submission and settlement as well as failed transaction management.
  • Primary senior CH contact for external departments, market participants, and settlement banks during US hours.
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate processing and ensuring sufficient policies, procedures and controls are in place to meet our SLAs daily.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and career progression of staff members
  • Provide critical assessment of operational system and risk management issues providing quick, accurate resolutions
  • Maintain strong relationships with customer base
Skills and Software Requirements
  • Knowledge of cash treasury and repo markets
  • Experience in clearing securities transactions at a Clearing Agency, Broker Dealer, or trading firm
  • Strong Understanding of operational risk and necessary internal controls as they relate to the clearing infrastructure and risks required
  • Ability to manage complex issues and drive towards resolution
  • Prior management experience a plus
  • Ability to work well across teams
  • Bachelors degree or higher
