Job Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain will oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain processes within our manufacturing organization. This department is currently structured with groups in strategic sourcing, procurement, production planning, and receiving. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and effective operations, optimizing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

* Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals.

* Forecast demand and plan inventory needs to ensure optimal stock levels.

Procurement and Supplier Management:

* Oversee the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, developing and negotiating supplier contracts, and ensuring supplier performance meets company standards.

Logistics and Distribution:

* Manage Logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

Inventory Management:

* Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and reduce holding costs.

* Monitor inventory levels and adjust procurement plans as needed.

Team Leadership:

* Lead, Mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.

* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Customer Satisfaction:

* Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Performance Metrics:

* Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain performance.

* Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration:

* Work closely with other departments, including production, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment and support company objectives.

* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across the supply chain.

Risk Management:

* Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.

* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.

* Proficiency in using ERP systems and other operational software.

* Strong analytical & problem-solving skills are required.

* A strong proficiency in data analysis and translating into strategies and tactics.

* High proficiency with MS Office suite of products required.

* Ability to implement successful supply chain strategies.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).

* 10+ years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.

* Experience with planning, developing & implementing inventory management & production management systems is preferred

* Experience with materials management function including, demand management, master scheduling, capacity planning, material planning & inventory control is required

* Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing like Epicor, Oracle, JDE or SAP
