The Director, Vendor Expense Analytics is accountable and responsible for the quality, timeliness, and completion of analytics in support of Optum Health Supply Chain initiatives. They will lead the analytics team and provide strategic direction its advancement in Optum Health Supply Chain. This role requires close collaboration and partnership with Value Analysis, Account Management, Clinicians, and Vendors to accurately and comprehensively build analytical models that support decision-making and savings analytics. They are also responsible for mining procurement spend data for savings opportunities and presenting them to internal decision makers.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Forms high performance relationships with Care Delivery Organizations, enterprise teams, subject matter experts and suppliers
+ Demonstrates exceptional experience in vendor relationships interacting with senior vendor leaders and works collaboratively with partners to achieve desired outcomes
+ Approaches new projects with a consulting mindset to help craft the best solutions with available information
+ Diligent in tracking down answers and experienced in navigating a complex organization to uncover and resolve issues
+ Creates and maintains documentation for analytic best practices, branding, and presentation formats
+ Directly Manage onshore analysts and indirectly manage offshore analysts
+ Oversee engagement and quality of analytics performed by vendor partners
+ Query and integrate datasets from a multitude of sources to identify savings opportunities, support negotiations/RFPs, and audit purchasing behavior
+ Guide and develop analysts on best practices and own the quality of all analytics prior to stakeholder presentation
+ Research and advise on new technologies that will help scale analytics
+ Collaborate closely with BI Developers to co-create requirements and perform transformations for the creation and management of dashboards and reports
+ Serve as the subject matter expert on analytics for healthcare supply chain product categories and nuances (Pharmacy, MedSurg, Clinical Services, Lab, etc.)

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 8+ years of experience in Vendor Expense Analytics and the various clinical product categories (Pharmacy, MedSurg, Clinical Services, Lab, etc.)
+ 8+ years of experience and expert Proficiency in Excel performing scenario modeling and savings analytics
+ 6+ years of managing analytics teams
+ 4+ years of using SQL (or other Database Management Query Tool) to pull and manipulate data
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Machine learning, predictive analytics, or an AI experience
+ Experience with Procure to Pay or ERP systems such as Couap, PremierConnect, Oracle, Netsuite/Fusion/iProcure, SAGE etc.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
