Job Description:
Director / VP of Human Resources Western, NY JK Executive Strategies has been retained to identify a new Director of Human Resources as a senior member of the executive management team of a well-respected multi-location, manufacturing firm in the Western, NY area. The Vice President of Human Resources will lead and develop the HR function in alignment with strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR operations within a manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement. As a key member of the executive team, the Director of HR will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, development, retention, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on all HR matters.
  • Lead organizational development initiatives to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent.
  • Talent Development - provide professional expertise and support in the design, development, and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
  • Implement effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly across all locations.
  • Develop succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity.
  • Create and manage comprehensive training and development programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Implement performance management systems to support employee growth.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including union relations.
  • Manage HR audits and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Develop and implement policies to mitigate organizational risks.
  • Utilize HR data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Monitor key HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Report on HR performance to the executive team.
  • Liaise with Board of Directors by providing updates and recommendations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic business setting.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools, including HRIS systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar HR certifications are highly desirable.
Salary Range:
  • $135K to $165K annually + variable compensation
