Summary:
The Director, Workday HRIS is responsible for the experience of 3000+ clinicians, teammates, contractors, and leaders engaging with Workday at NorthStar on day-to-day basis. The position requires a strategic professional who can understand complex business requirements and envision a new and improved business processes and Workday solutions to streamline operations and create efficiency gains.
The position will develop relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across all functional areas (e.g., Clinical, HR, Payroll, Accounting, Finance, IT, Operations, etc.) to maintain and develop processes that will support best in class operations and an excellent employee experience. The position will lead a Workday configuration team responsible for key workstreams aligned to respective owners across HR and other functional areas.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with various teams across multiple functions to help improve processes by understanding business requirements and implementing solutions
- Advise on business asks and leverage the technological capabilities of Workday to maximize system efficiencies
- Create end-to-end test plans; executing the plans and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met, and that the solution works as expected, including defining and developing test scenarios and identifying required test scripts
- Ensure data integrity via ongoing governance and audits
- Assist in resolving user how-to questions, and develop training documentation as necessary to minimize re-occurrences of user error and provide periodic training for end users on system processes and procedures
- Understand business strategies, HR strategies and provide recommendations utilizing current or new functionalities
- Lead cross-functional projects or initiatives designed to address systemic challenges that will inhibit growth at the organization
- As a leader, the Director, Workday HRIS will be responsible for helping team members think through challenges, providing stretch assignments and developmental opportunities, coordinating work among team members, and modeling NorthStars core values
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Information Systems and Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Five or more years of experience configuring and supporting Workday
- Five or more years of direct functional experience with at least two of the following Workday modules: HCM, Benefits, Time, Compensation, Performance &Talent, Learning, Payroll, Reporting
- Three or more years team management experience
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with and through others to resolve issues
- Strong work ethic and an intellectual curiosity
- Strong prioritization and project management skills
- Ability to identify gaps in business requirements and ask the right questions to fill in gaps
- Demonstrated focus on the user experience while within HR systems
- Solid analytical and trouble-shooting skills, strong partnering/relationship building skills.
- Self-motivated and well-adapted to meet deadlines with speed, accuracy, and a professional attitude
- Flexibility and adaptability to continuous change
- Identify and analyze business needs and requirements, being able to translate technical requirements into business appropriate terminology and vice versa
- Remain current on current and future functionality of the Workday system
- Ability to think strategically and anticipate potential challenges before they occur or escalate
