Its role is to design, develop, implement, and administer compensation and benefits policies and programs for staff and the contingent workforce in Washington, D.C. and over 130 country offices. The Mobility Benefits and Cross Cutting Themes team (HRDMC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and engaging on programs and processes that are cross-cutting in nature and require significant engagement and change management leadership to implement. In FY25, the team will be responsible for several high-profile initiatives including (i) the continued implementation of disability program updates, as advanced by the Disability Steering Committee (SC) (ii) the implementation and ongoing management of the new Disability Review Panel and (iii) an evaluation of the Bank Group's global footprint and relevant mobility benefit policies to ensure fit for purpose. Through this work, the team lead the department's engagement with critical stakeholders and staff at large to operationalize updates and enhance organization awareness and understanding of HRDMC programs. HRDMC is offering a Development Assignment (DAIS) opportunity to internal Bank Group staff interested in broadening their skills, knowledge and competencies at the GF level. The selected candidate will come from the Washington, D.C. area as no DAIS benefits are budgeted for this opportunity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Actively contribute to the implementation of the disability program updates as recommended by the Disability SC, acting as the Secretariat of the implementation committee and liaising with internal stakeholders to monitor implementation progress and liaising with internal stakeholders to monitor implementation progress • Act as a primary point of contact for program participants who are seeking information and clarification on the redress and appellate mechanisms available to disability program participants, supporting staff to navigate the appellate steps inherent to the program • Act as the lead for the Disability Appeal Panel (DRP) Secretariat, liaising with panel members, the HR Benefits team and participants who appeal their claims to the DRP in order to receive, process and adjudicate claims in the DRP • Collaborate and partner with the HR Benefits team, on engagement efforts to deepen WBG staff and line Management understanding of the disability program; • Work directly with the unit Manager to monitor Disability Administrator performance and financials, and, recommend changes to ensure a high level of service to staff and program governance for the World Bank Group. • Directly support and advise the unit Manager, on critical and sensitive issues requiring a high degree of engagement and implementation support • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and processes in other HRDMC areas including mobility benefits, evacuations and other cross-cutting themes • Facilitate or work with stakeholders on issues that will lead towards resolution of members' cases, including the Staff Association representatives, TPA representative, etc. Selection Criteria • Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience with change management efforts in the WBG, actively contributing to enable their adoption among critical stakeholders • Communications leadership experience, drafting materials to aid staff understanding and adoption of the change • Experience in engaging with WBG staff on sensitive issues that are sometimes emotional in nature • Demonstrated soft skills related to being human, and empathetic • Demonstrated ability to manage staff data per the WBG's data privacy standards, ensuring the utmost degree of confidentiality throughout • Superior written and oral communications skills • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight, exercising judgement on when to escalate decisions for management intervention Note: This is a Developmental Assignment based in Washington, D.C. for a duration of 12 Months.
