Job Description:
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. We are currently seeking Disaster Debris Monitors in Sanford, Flto join our team and assist in the monitoring and management of disaster debris removal operations. The ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively in challenging field conditions.Essential functions and responsibilities include:
  • Conduct on-site monitoring of disaster debris removal activities.
  • Document and report debris removal progress and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with removal contractors, citizens, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality control inspections at debris loading sites.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve project objectives.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and work instructions at all times.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Successfully pass a motor vehicle and criminal background check.
  • Hold a valid State Driver's License
  • Possess a reliable and dependable vehicle for monitoring debris removal contractors.
  • Maintain a cellular phone with charger for communication purposes.
  • Available to work 12-14-hour days, 7 days a week.
  • Capability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity conditions for long periods during the day.
  • Proficient in driving and working in areas with disaster and harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Must speak in English
