Job DescriptionUnder limited supervision, responsible for the establishment and coordination of the disaster recovery programs and business resumption planning across Health-IT managed solutions. This role manages the enterprise Disaster Recovery program to ensure IT resilience and rapid recovery of critical systems, aligning objectives with business needs.Responsibilities
- Regularly review and update the IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan to align with current infrastructure, business needs, resiliency goals, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate DR exercises across platforms, including live and tabletop simulations, to ensure readiness, document results, and integrate improvements.
- Oversee IT recovery efforts during incidents, ensuring the team follows procedures, activates plans, and escalates issues to minimize disruptions and support quick recovery.
- Collaborate with the IT DR Plan Manager, Business Continuity Manager, and key stakeholders to set objectives, communicate DR exercise results, and ensure alignment.
- Work with IT teams to improve, standardize, and update documentation for vendor solutions, configurations, and recovery procedures supporting IT resiliency.
- Document DR exercise outcomes, analyze for improvements, and incorporate lessons learned to strengthen recovery capabilities.
- Prepare disaster recovery reports for leadership, covering updates, exercise results, identified risks, and resiliency recommendations.
- Keep documentation of DR plans, business continuity plans, and infrastructure configurations comprehensive and current.
- Conduct regular assessments to ensure IT recovery capabilities meet continuity and resiliency requirements, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Support configuration management and risk assessments to align with disaster recovery and resiliency standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of years of related experience is required.

Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:
- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
- Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
