Strong understanding of RTO/RPO concepts and ability to design systems to meet business recovery objectives. Expertise in Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Backup, and Azure Blob Storage. - Design and implement Azure-based disaster recovery solutions for critical business applications, ensuring high availability and minimal disruption during outages.
- Conduct application dependency assessments to map out interdependencies between systems, applications, and services, ensuring seamless failover and recovery.
- Define, manage, and test Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) to meet business requirements and reduce downtime.
- Develop and maintain backup strategies using Azure Backup, ensuring data retention policies are met for mission-critical workloads.
- Configure and manage Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for automatic failover and data replication across Azure regions and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, DevOps, and application owners to develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
- Perform regular disaster recovery drills and failover testing to ensure preparedness and to validate that systems can recover within the agreed RTO/RPO.
- Develop detailed disaster recovery runbooks and procedures, ensuring smooth recovery processes during incidents.
- Implement monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to detect issues and ensure optimal system health.
- Provide ongoing risk assessments and business impact analysis (BIA) to identify potential vulnerabilities and gaps in the disaster recovery strategy.
- Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and best practices in disaster recovery and backup solutions, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
