Job Description:

West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles law firm, seeks a discovery clerk with preferably 1-3 years of Employment Law experience or experience in a litigation department handling discovery. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager performing the following tasks:

  • Propounding and responding to discovery requests, preferably in employment law cases

PREFERENCES

  • 1-2 years of experience handling employment law or experience working in a litigation department with a firm grasp of the code of civil procedure
  • Paralegal certificate
  • Knowledge of Filevine software
  • Preparing trial binders/exhibit binders
  • Drafting motions, oppositions, and replies
  • Calendaring
  • Training junior assistants/assistants
  • Case management and correspondence with opposing counsel
  • Experience drafting discovery and motions
  • Experience helping a handling attorney with trial prep
