Job OverviewSummary/Objective The IT Technician responsible for assisting employees with question on the usage of technology and for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks.Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot all technology issues for employees and provide phone and in person support to resolve issues.
  • Maintains log and/or list of support requests, time to answer, resolutions, required repairs and maintenance
  • Makes recommendations about purchase of hardware and software
  • Provides network access to employees
  • Installs work stations and connect and set up hardware
  • Loads all required software
  • Provides network accounts and passwords as required
  • Monitors security of all technology
  • Inputs and maintains IP addresses
  • Advises staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Identifies and prepares hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Ensures hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
  • Contributes to the development and implementation or policies and procedures for electronic data processing, data security and computer systems operations
  • Monitors and maintains technology to ensure maximum access and efficient operations
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect including customer information security, phishing hacking and network attacks
  • Ensures that proper safety equipment used by self during installation of equipment
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training to other employees
  • Provides training on new hardware, equipment or software to employees
  • Keeps abreast of new software, hardware, equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
  • Ensures that the work areas are kept clean and in accordance with company policy and safe working conditions
  • Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards
  • Follows the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
  • Understands and follows all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from Supervisors
  • Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.
  • Maintains a professional appearance for self in accordance with company policy
  • Attends pertinent training on request
  • Attends company meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Expertise in computer hardware and software systems and programs including but not limited to emails, industry specific software, telecommunications, computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Ability to prioritize multiple High Priority request for most efficient operations
  • Ability to remain patient and professional when faced with difficult situations
  • Ability to demonstrate proper techniques for using company's technology resources
  • Ability to understand, and keep abreast of, regulations that impact business, customer and employee information security
  • Ability to wear proper safety equipment
  • Ability to facilitate and/or conduct technical training on use of equipment and software to employees
  • Extreme Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership and organization
