Position Summary: To ensure the kitchen is kept well stocked with clean, sanitary dishware and cooking equipment. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: • Work the load end of the dish machine during service, loading dirty dishes and pans into the dish machine. • Monitor station during service for sanitation and cleanliness. • Assist with afternoon prep after restocking for next day's service. • Sweep the dining room and servery after lunch, spot mop as needed. • Recommend changes to improve efficiencies. • Maintain a clean and safe environment based on Federal, State and Local regulations. FIFO. • Ensure all items are labeled for identification (i.e. spray bottles). • Ownership of the station's storage areas. • Performs other duties as needed and assigned. Qualifications: A High School degree or a combination of education and work experience in related fields, preferably in a busy cafeteria style environment. Servsafe certification is required (will be provided if needed). Schedule/travel: Full-time calendar year position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Additional hours may be required. Schedule may vary according to the Department and Kent School needs.FLSA: Non-ExemptClassification: Staff The ideal candidate will: • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to communicate with coworkers in a constructive and positive manner. • Possess the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively • Able to work independently and make sound decisions with flexibility/adaptability and have a calm demeanor. • Contribute to team effort by supporting other stations as needed. Physical Requirements: The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: • Requires employees to be on their feet for extended periods, and climb stairs. • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Additional Requirements: • Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment criminal background checks and drug test. • Maintain punctual and regular attendance. • Work is performed on a smoke free campus.
