This role is essential to ensuring a safe and clean dining environment for residents and staff while supporting the overall operations of the kitchen.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:•Wash and sanitize all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans using an industrial dishwasher or manual cleaning methods.•Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored in designated locations.•Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dishwashing area, including counters, sinks, and floors.•Dispose of garbage and recycling in a timely and sanitary manner, following facility protocols.•Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and fryers, as directed.•Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning drains, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.•Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify supervisors of low stock or equipment issues.•Assist with food preparation or kitchen duties as requested by supervisors.•Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.•Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations during meal service and special events.Qualifications:•Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.•Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and follow cleaning protocols.•Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.•Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.•Good organizational and time-management skills.•Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and maintain a positive attitude.Key Attributes:•Reliability and a strong work ethic.•Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.•Respect and understanding of working in a senior living environment.Reports To: Kitchen Manager, Dining Room Supervisor, or Food Service DirectorSalary Description $16 - $19 hourly
