Job Description:

The Dispatch Clerk will coordinate with the Sr Manager of Logistics to schedule routes for drivers based on clients needs and requirements. The dispatch clerk is responsible for dispatching drivers and ensuring the loads are aligned with the planned routes. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate data input and operation logs, performing administrative tasks and handling communications with internal and external stakeholders. Duties / Responsibilities:Scheduling and dispatching drivers, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, routes, customer requests or immediate needs.Enter and maintain data and operation logs and daily activity records of routes and vehicles into department systems. Perform various administrative tasks including but not limited to data entry, reporting and documenting.Manage communications via phone, email or text message in an efficient and timely manner.Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships to ensure streamlined communication regarding routes status.Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, inventory records and other information.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition.Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel.Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching dutiesAbility to relay information in a fast-paced environment.Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED preferred.Minimum 1 year experience in a clerical or administrative role is requiredProficiency in Microsoft excel, and word is requiredPrior experience working with Samsara is a plusPrior experience working in logistics or transportation roles is preferred.
