The Atlantic Mobile Health Dispatcher III is an integral part of the Emergency Medical Services Department supporting the Basic and Advanced Life Support personnel.The dispatcher is responsible for assignment of the most appropriate ALS and/or BLS resource to meet the patient and customer's needs while assuring the safe completion of the emergency through superior communication and customer service skills.The dispatcher will utilize multiple phone lines, six computer screens and wall monitors containing information ranging from Computer Aided Dispatch(CAD) systems, telecommunications equipment, mapping software, vehicle tracking software, weather and traffic information to assure the safety of medical crews. Coordination with other EMS teams and Communications Center in the region to assure safe operations and collaboration and the necessary logistical support for the mission.The ideal candidate is committed to safety, detail oriented and one who can function well in a fast paced, dynamic environment where finding solutions to complex logistical challenges is a must. World class customer service and communication skills are mandatory.Initiates the transmission of messages using multiple forms of communications not limited to radio, pager, mobile data and phone in a professional manner.Receives all emergency calls requesting Basic Life Support services for municipalities and clients in North and Central New Jersey, including mutual aid requests from other agencies.Receives all emergency calls requesting Advanced Life Support services for the Mobile Intensive Care programs the Communications Center provides services for including mutual aid requests from other agencies.Answers 911 lines and provides call screening and pre-arrival instructions for calls requiring Emergency Medical Services.Dispatches units by means of radio and telephone equipment provided, in accordance with established protocols.Coordinates and connects radio channel patches to medical control physicians per established protocols.Monitors and records status and location of all vehicles and personnel.Coordinates with hospitals to provide information from the scene of large-scale incidents including incoming patient information per established protocols.Maintains hospital diversion status with periodical updates when necessary.Troubleshoots all radio problems and notify the supervisor for assistance.Staffs the EMS Communications Unit that responds to scenes and pre-planned events when requested.Operates all equipment under the Rules and Regulations of the Federal Communications Commission and the New Jersey State Department of Health.
