Receives transport calls from various sources and assists in the triaging and prioritizing of requests to assure a timely response. Utilizes the transport module of the PennChart Epic System to dispatch requests for transport services.Responsibilities:Responding to telephone and electronic requests for transport in a professional and courteous mannerAssigning staff to perform transportation related services in a timely manner by following priority guidelinesModifying request priorities to ensure timely responseActively seeking to resolve transportation support issuesCommunicating with the department management team regarding appropriate transportation activity levelsLifting, walking, pushing, and pulling 100-200 pounds and demonstrating an appropriate range of motionAppropriately dispatching transportation staff and equipment to rapid response, code calls, and stroke alertsGuiding others in the use of Epic Transportation systemMonitoring timeliness of patient transportation within the hospital and responding appropriately to delays in serviceProviding the highest level of customer service through appropriate customer communication and issue resolutionAssisting in training new employeesActing as a good steward of the department and hospital's equipmentFollowing established infection control, departmental, hospital, and safety policies and proceduresPerforming duties of a Transporter as neededEducation or Equivalent Experience:High School Diploma or GED (Required)Associates Degree (preferred)1 year of related experience (preferred)We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
