Maintains and monitors the flow of patient room discharges. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all transport and room cleaning activity on a daily basis. Also all movement of patients will be augmented by the dispatcher.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: UH Environmental ServiceSCHEDULE: Days & Evenings & NightsATTRIBUTES:High school or equivalent required.One to three years of experience in a health care setting, Strong customer service and communication skills required.An ability to multi-task, (i.e. handling multiple phone calls at once) The ability to work in a stressful work environmentRESPONSIBILITIESReceives information from customer's areas to schedule patient transports. Communicates directly with customers/Units to assure no delays or conflicts of schedule occur and also assuring that jobs are appropriately triaged.Receives information from customers when a patient room needs to be cleaned prior to the room being occupied by the next patient. Communicates (pages) with employees concerning transports and room cleaning.Inputs data for daily activity. Documents beginning and ending times with all assignments and reports variances with the Manager/Supervisor. Coordinates employees, schedules, and makes changes as necessary with direction from department supervisor. Maintains data base and submits prior day's activities to Manager and Supervisor.Assures timely completion of all transport and discharge requests. Communicates all delays to appropriate areas.Provides guidance for volunteer transporters.PAY SUMMARY:The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $19.40The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.
