Job DescriptionSummary:The Dispatcher position is responsible for the supervision of drivers, daily scheduling, and dispatching of our customers' freight. The role owns the relationship with our private fleet and is instrumental in the successful coordination of the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of goods. The key responsibilities of this function are to provide exceptional support to our drivers, be quick to respond to questions and troubleshooting concerns, and to proactively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction. This is a 12 hour shift, dispatchers will work 4 days one week and 3 days the following week.Competencies: Self-motivated problem-solver with strong desire to meet customer needs Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast paced environment Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all support departments Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Must be willing to work a flexible scheduleCore Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination, scheduling of drivers, and dispatching of outbound shipments Act as the main point of contact for all driver facing communication via phone, XRS, and E-mail Offer exceptional support to drivers to ensure that their professional needs are being met Monitor shipments throughout transit in order to safely and effectively meet delivery schedules Respond to customers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally Responsible for tracking and spotting of equipment on and off site via YMS/Blue Tree Monitor performance and available hours of Fleet Drivers to include accident and injury reporting Work cooperatively with sales team to provide solutions for customers needs and resolve issues Work cooperatively with the backhaul team to coordinate return freight pick up and timely delivery Other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications Experience with transportation operating systems(CAMS Prospero, YMS, ELD Software) Transportation industry knowledge and experience Prior dispatch/driver supervision experience EducationHighschool Diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements Perform bending, squatting, sitting, and reaching from floor level to six feet in height. Must be able to move throughout various buildings, conduct training at retail sites, load and unload materials and equipment. Working Environment Standard office/store environment. Must be able to work nontraditional hours as needed (before and after normal office hours and weekends.
