About Take 2:

Take 2 is a thriving, privately owned electronics recycling firm that collects, transports, tests, repairs, sells, and de-manufactures used IT and electronic equipment. These products include computers, laptops, printers, monitors, network devices, televisions, and other items generated from businesses, government, and households.

Take 2 serves hundreds of towns and businesses in the northeast, mainly in Connecticut for secure electronics recycling. Our Logistics team travels to scheduled Municipal Transfer Stations and business sites to fulfill pick-ups of electronic waste and destruction of client data. In addition, we manage approximately 50 annual Household Electronics Recycling Events throughout Connecticut. Our logistics team is expected to consistently provide timely, professional, and courteous service to our customers.

About the position:

Our fast paced, customer centric, and environmentally responsible company is seeking a Dispatcher to oversee all aspects of scheduling, customer service, and compliance. Interested candidates should possess strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be organized, and can adjust to changing priorities in real time. The position offers a significant amount of advancement and will have a direct impact on the organization as a whole.

Most of our customers are on a regular schedule while others are on a per need basis. The Dispatcher will be responsible for using our Route Management software to set up daily trucking routes. The Dispatcher will communicate with customers to determine the pick-up needs. In addition, the candidate will provide customer service support by fielding calls and emails from customers, answering questions about our products or services, processing settlements, and handling customer concerns or complaints.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily routing management and scheduling of service for all clients
  • Oversee all communication with customers
  • Manage Take 2 Drivers and Driver Helpers
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Take 2 staff and customers to ensure their needs are being met
  • Plan and coordinate all collection events
  • Optimize pick-up efficiencies through measuring route productivity (time and capacity utilization)
  • Comply with all DOT, IFTA, environmental, and safety requirements
  • Oversee the billing and project settlement processes
  • Manage fleet of 5 trucks including preventative maintenance program

Schedule

  • This is an in-person position Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays (45 hrs/week expected)

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary $60,000 + based on experience

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • 1+ year of experience in trucking or customer service industry preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT and/or Federal Motor Carrier regulations a plus
  • Professional attitude and attire

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Preferred) in Logistics, Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management, Business or other related areas
