The Dispatcher plays a key role in our work of transporting clients to needed care within our contracted area. They are the first point of contact, coordinating with facilities on pick-up and delivery times for clients and providing precise logistics for transport drivers to follow on their routes. Dispatchers stay in direct contact with transport drivers and have all the information needed for successful client transports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive electronic notices for transports, recording significant information and prioritizing submissions according to urgency and proximity to transport drivers.
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions, elevating problems to Dispatch Supervisor when necessary.
- Confirm transport with outgoing and destination facilities.
- Monitor the route and status of current transports to coordinate the schedule, providing transport drivers with information on the client, staff, weather, and other pertinent information.
- Enter data in computer system, maintain logs of calls, incidents, cancellations, driver availability and more, submitting reports monthly to Dispatch Supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with Director of Operations and Dispatch Supervisors to update and maintain a list of facility contacts and current drivers.
- Drive excellence by creating efficiencies that will reduce the arrival time for drivers (under the 2-hour maximum). Report all overages to Dispatch Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the owner, Dispatch Supervisor, DOO, and VP.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school degree
- Experience as a dispatcher or other relevant position
- Proficient in English (oral and written); active listener with excellent communication skills
- Tech-savvy, good typing skills, and experience with data entry
- Proven ability to work from home, managing time effectively to produce results
- Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources, adapting and making decisions as needed.
- Ability to multi-task, interpreting on-going problems and suggesting possible solutions. Preferred but not required: 911 Dispatcher experience General Dispatcher experience Logistical experience **This position is an in-office position in the Oklahoma City or Norman office.**
