Responsibilities
This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, timely delivery and pick-up of blood and blood products by directing workflow management, overtime management and driver productivity. Works to ensure that all collection locations operate on time and are well stocked with all of the supplies and equipment required for a successful drive.
* Monitors schedules, vehicles, dispatches drivers, and directs pickups or deliveries.
* Coordinates drivers and operations to meet time parameters on all shipments, pickups, donor centers, and blood drives.
* Assists mobile drivers as needed to ensure drive starts, and breakdown are completed on time.
* Report vehicle and fleet equipment issues, communicating DVIR's, coordinating with mechanic shops and towing providers.
* Ensure blood drive vehicles are operational, loaded, and ready to depart on time.
* Monitor drivers' departure and arrival time for blood drives and communicate all delays via email.
* Manages safety compliance by ensuring accidents forms are completed and reported in a timely manner.
* Maintains and reviews driver records and documents including spreadsheets and ensuring their accuracy before submission.
* Monitors and documents employee activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
* Resolve customer service issues by partnering with internal departments to develop and implement a satisfactory solution.
* Manages communications via dispatch base phone or email between the business unit and drivers.
* Monitors and reports on radio communications from the NYC Office of Emergency Management.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent, some college coursework preferred.
Experience:
Three years of experience in directing staff, office management or dispatcher is required.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of DOT regulations (hours of service).
Knowledge of computerized and mobile communication systems.
Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hourly salary is $28.00/hr. to $30.00/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
