Job Summary The Dispatcher at Golden Waffles is responsible for managing the daily routes and schedules of CDL drivers, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products to various warehouses throughout the country. This role involves using inventory data, customer order information, and other relevant metrics to optimize routes, maintain delivery schedules, and support the company's commitment to excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Develop, coordinate, and optimize daily delivery routes for CDL drivers using inventory data, customer orders, and real-time metrics to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • CDL Driver Management: Act as the primary point of contact for CDL drivers, providing them with schedules, route information, and any necessary instructions to complete deliveries. Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and address any issues or delays that may arise. Fill driver vacancies by participating in the hiring process.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers, warehouse associates, and other internal departments to ensure seamless operations. Maintain proper communication and notify relevant parties of any changes in delivery schedules or potential delays.
  • Data Management: Utilize logistics software and tools to track driver locations, delivery statuses, and inventory levels. Update and maintain accurate records of routes, delivery times, and other logistics-related data.
  • Problem Solving: Respond promptly to emergencies, unexpected situations, or last-minute changes in delivery requirements. Develop and implement solutions to minimize disruptions and ensure continued efficiency.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all drivers adhere to company policies, federal and state transportation regulations, and safety standards. Monitor driver logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on delivery performance, route efficiency, and driver productivity. Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements to management.
  • Customer Service: Support customer service initiatives by ensuring on-time delivery and maintaining a high standard of service. Address any customer complaints or concerns related to transportation and delivery.
  • Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or a related field, preferably within the transportation or food industry.
  • Experience managing CDL drivers is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, routing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.
  • Primarily an office environment with regular use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Some on-call responsibilities to manage emergencies or unforeseen scheduling changes.
  • Occasional travel to warehouses or other company locations as needed.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, as needed.
