Job Description:
Upon Graduation from training, pay rate may increase to $23.00 per hour.Applicants must be 18 years of age.Overall Responsibilities: To receive emergency calls and dispatch appropriate emergency response services. This is specialized work in receiving and dispatching emergencies as well as routine calls in the Armstrong County 911 Center for the citizens of Armstrong County.Duties include, but are not limited to;Receives emergency calls for assistance. Obtains accurate information regarding the nature/location of emergency. Dispatches appropriate services. Interacts with local police departments, ambulance services, state police and volunteer fire and rescue departments. Conveys emergency medical dispatch information. Process requests and provides information for CLEAN/NCIC. Maintains accurate and complete documentation. Monitors, maintains and responds to in-house alarms. Maintains confidential files and procedures records and log sheets for department. Operates computer and technical equipment and provides basic equipment maintenance. Processes various forms, reports and other department paperwork. Keeps updated on all policies, procedures and regulations. Monitors weather conditions. Knowledge of DPS policies and procedures and ability to retain and recall these procedures. Must be a resident of Armstrong County.Minimum Qualifications:EDUCATION/TRAINING:High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional training in computers and emergency medical services or police and fire training.WORK EXPERIENCE:0-2 years of dispatching experience is preferred.
