We have an amazing team of Supervisors throughout our bases who are dedicated to helping others.What You Will Be Doing:As the dispatcher, you will be responsible for reporting to the Communications Supervisor, BLS crews, MAVO crews, facilities and Call Takers. You will be reporting various calls to our field employees, while following up with their ETA and making any late calls to facilities with new ETA times. Dispatcher's are also responsible for ensuring emergency calls take priority.Responsibilities:
- Ensures requests for service are met in a timely manner by scheduling, locating, dispatching and monitoring all assigned field staff.
- Maintains clear communication with all assigned crews about destination purposes, traffic, stairs, lift assists, etc.
- Problem solves if a field employee is having an issue with a patient, facility or equipment.
- Handles all dispatched calls with urgency and understands that they are all time sensitive.
- Maintains appropriate and detailed records of all telecommunications via phone/email to all supervisors when something arises that needs immediate attention.
- Assists Call Takers when the call volume is heavy or other questions that the communications department might need help with.
- Has a complete understanding of all operational positions such as Call Takers, EMS field positions and Supervisory functions.
- Provides detailed follow ups at the end of each shift via email to supervisors about any mishaps/call outs/late calls/etc that were made.
- Protects the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Company's privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state laws, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
Requirements:
- Reliable and dependable - we are open 24 hrs/7 days a week
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willing to submit a drug test and background check
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask with phone/email/crews/Call Takers
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to work individually and as a team
- Transportation to and from work

- Any previous dispatch experience
- Customer service background
- Charting/EPRO knowledge
- Rescue Net knowledge
- Logisticare knowledge
- Curaspan knowledge
- Administrative office experience
