SUMMARY SourceProSearch is looking for a Dispute Resolution Paralegal who assist attorneys in various types of arbitration, litigation, and investigation work for upcoming, pending and potential cases. Provides assistance in the preparation of legal documents; research and compilation of data from various legal references as well as the maintenance of case files. Work, other than primary duties, is allocated on a case-by-case basis or as specifically requested by an attorney. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Gathers, organizes, summarizes and indexes documents/chronologies for cases.
- Drafts correspondence, routine pleadings and motions, disclosure requests and responses according to judicial procedures and other related documents.
- Prepares and maintains documents and bundles to be used at hearings and proceedings (hard copies and soft copy PDFs, including pagination).
- Liaises directly with clients and third parties, especially as regards to document collection and management.
- Sets up and manages hardcopy and electronic case files.
- Proofreads arbitration and litigation and other documents; cite checks draft briefs.
- Conducts business and legal research, analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.
- Tracks cases on Bloomberg Law/in the media and updates the team.
- File management - updates shared drives and hard copy folders with key documents.
- Assists with client interviews and witnesses and prepares summaries of statements.
- Assists attorneys with preparation for depositions and trials, which may include attending depositions, trials and other hearings.
- Utilizes trial software at trials and other arbitrations, as needed.
- Communicates with the courts regarding ordering transcripts of hearings.
- Communicates with court reporting vendors to set up court reports for arbitration.
- Maintains and develops know-how/precedents filing and database.
- Liaises with the London office colleagues, as necessary, to obtain information regarding resources.
Non-Essential Duties
- Makes periodic trips to court to file documents, as needed.
- Assists legal assistants as required with naming and managing client files.
- Handles conflict checks on a one-off basis, if needed.
- Manages document translation with external providers as necessary.
Position SpecificationEducation
- Associates' degree required.
- Paralegal certificate required
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience; one year on an Arbitration/Litigation team, - preferred.
- Document management experience essential.

Physical Demands: role requires the typical frequency of bending, sitting, standing in an office support role. May require lifting of boxes and/or bundles of up to 10Ibs
