Position Summary: This position reports to the Materials manager and is responsible to ensure delivery times and dates are met by coordinating activities between logistics, planning, and transportation groups. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works to assist Distribution administrator in shipping tasks.
- Prioritizes daily shipping schedules against shipping orders.
- Supports the work activities of the Shipping team.
- Anticipates and resolves transportation issues working in conjunction with carriers, shipping handlers, and distribution and logistics group.
- Responsible for ensuring all shipments leaving this facility are in accordance to DOT and cGMP regulations, as well as customer specifications.
- Maintains file of pictures and load sheets for containers and truckloads
- Maintains areas label inventory to ensure labels are available and no orders are held up due to lack of product labels.
- Reviews daily work list with shipping handlers
- Orders supplies and materials as needed for Shipping and Tracks area operations.
- Maintains records on Wood Packaging standards
- Ensures special customer requirements are always met.
- Contacts carrier representative; makes schedule arrangements for pickup
- Maintains Key Relationships/Customers
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required. Two-year degree desired.
- 2-3 years of administrative experience in logistics or warehouse operations.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of SAP business applications related to shipping activities.
- Familiar with the requirements of the 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG regulations
- Coordinates and assists with safety huddles, safety meetings, and training sessions as needed.
- Can add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Uses the computer to accurately enter information and data into FMC business systems (SAP, SIMS, MOC, CPAR, QSA).
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Can prioritize and organize materials and supplies for upcoming orders.
- Can plan and manage time and materials to meet required deadlines.
- Recognizes process improvement opportunities and suggests appropriate changes.
- Uses effective oral and written communication.
- Uses MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Outlook and Teams to communicate all work instructions, order statuses, and job assignments.
