>The City of Evanston is accepting applications for Distribution and Collection Operator. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the City's water distribution and wastewater collection systems.Qualifications* Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.* Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Wyoming for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Wyoming Class I Distribution System Operator Certification.* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Wyoming Class I Collection System Operator Certification.Special Requirements* The work is typically performed while standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.* The work is typically performed outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious of infectious diseases, and irritating chemicals.Miscellaneous Information* The work consists of related maintenance duties. Inclement weather and field conditions contribute to the complexity of the position.* The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair the city's water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Successful performance helps ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of system operations.
