Description
Position Summary: Responsiblefor receiving incoming shipments ensuring to accurately record and inspect each shipment. Will alsoprocess incoming and outgoing merchandise for internal and external distribution.
Essential Job Functions:
Receive, inspect and verify the contents of shipments to ensure they match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
Record and track the receipt of goods in the company's inventory system. Maintain an accurate log of all incoming shipments.
Properly store goods in designated areas, ensuring products are organized and accessible for future use or distribution.
Pick, pack, and ship daily orders.
Operate postal and UPS systems.
Process inbound merchandise and returns and distribute internal merchandise.
Maintain order and inventory accuracy while restocking picking inventory.
Process publication back-starts and missed copies.
Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
Other Duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Assist in daily cycle count and year-end inventory process.
Maintain and run reports, as required.
Cross train in all distribution department functions to support and assist other members of the team, as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
6 months experience in a shipping or distribution environment.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn to properly operate postal and UPS systems within a designated period and learn department processes timely.
Basic math skills include the ability to easily add, subtract, multiply and divide. Skills testing administered as part of the initial interview process.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with members of a team.
Solid hand to eye coordination, maintaining repetitive motion and mindful of quality assurance.
Detail-oriented demonstrating ability to meet strict deadlines and learn new processes.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and become certified under the organization's lift truck training program.
Computer Skills : Basic knowledge of PC systems and keyboarding skills.
