Role Summary:
Reporting to the Distribution Center Supervisor, the Distribution Center Lead is responsible for supporting the materials management function of the department that the Distribution Center Lead is over. The Distribution Center Lead is essential to the overall operation of the business. While specific daily tasks can vary depending on the company, a Distribution Center Lead's main responsibility is ensuring Distribution Center Associates are successfully following work processes and assisting them with training and development.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Distribution Center Lead position may consist of some or all, and are not limited to, the following:
Assist Supervisor/Manager with daily tasks and projects as assignedAssist Distribution Center Associates with work process questions and problemsManage appropriate queues inside the Kendall business systemPrioritize workflow of scheduled ordersCheck accuracy of Distribution Center Associates' workRespond to shipment errors/inquiry emailsMonitor truck loading to ensure accuracy of loadingPerform defined Distribution Center activities specific to the receipt, placement into inventory, selection for shipment, and shipment of stockPick and pack orders accurately and promptlyReceive inventory accurately and promptlyRestock inventory in designated storage areasTruck loading and unloading according to established proceduresAccurately identify and count inventory in assigned areasMaintain quality and quantity performance and production standardsVerify back-orders and adjust inventory as neededFollow safe work habits and established safety proceduresParticipate in safety initiatives as assignedMust learn how to operate equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, crane, etc.Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of Distribution CenterCheck assigned equipment for proper operation/functionality and report problems to supervisionAttend meetings and training sessionsOther Distribution Center tasks as assignedCompetencies you possess:

Work Experience: 1 year prior warehouse experienceEducation: High School Diploma or GEDAnalytics/Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment, including but not limited to computerized bar code scanner, printer, and standard warehouse equipment/tools/machines/vehicles; basic math and reasoning skillsOrganization Skills: Excellent work ethic, good verbal, and communication skills ability to work independentlyCross-functional skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and through the direction of a Distribution Center Supervisor/ManagerCommunication Skills: Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization; know when to request assistance when appropriate, especially when lifting heavy objectsPhysical, Mental and Visual Skills: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
