Job DetailsJob Location Paradigm Delta PD - Logan Township, NJ Position Type Contractor Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 Salary Job Shift Day DescriptionGeneral Summary: The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) manages daily activities of assigned distribution center(s) (DCs). This position monitors inventory levels to manage expenses, minimize loss and maximize revenue. The individual in this role will ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets. This leader has responsibilities to build and retain a highly skilled, motivated and diverse workforce to deliver business, people and results in a rapidly changing supply chain environment. In addition, the DCM will ensure that Company quality standards, profitability targets, as well as national and global compliance standards, are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages all operational and administrative elements of the DC in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy both Company and customer requirements; approves and allocates resources based on business priorities.
  • Establishes and/or adopts operational processes to ensure business goals and compliance directives are effectively implemented through the efficient management of group and department managers and supervisors.
  • Develops strategies to assist the Company in meeting its critical goals and objectives in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
  • Collaborates with executive-level management in the development of long-term operational plans to include the development and oversight of financial and budgetary plans; sets and actions strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Plans, monitors and analyzes key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the DC to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks; prepares and submits daily and weekly production reports.
  • Responsible for Profit and Loss (P&L), ensuring that the operation remains cost effective and profitable by estimating costs and negotiating with vendors and/or customers.
  • Identifies potential problems; conducts root cause analysis to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue; implements corrective and/or preventative actions; establishes and implements a formalized Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and change-order management process; drives continuous improvement.
  • Supports and participates in customer Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and/or initiatives; builds and maintains relationships with all department heads, external partners, customers and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Delivers value-added solutions that meet/exceed customer business needs; shares key learnings with staff.
  • Serves as primary resource for escalations and quality with customers.
  • Coordinates and oversees the maintenance programs for warehouse equipment and infrastructure; serves as project leader for new infrastructure, equipment deployment and business processes.
  • Develops operational and administrative managers to ensure:
    • Planning and coordination of work assignments.
    • Cohesive team-oriented work groups are established and working effectively toward organizational goals.
    • All staff follow and contribute to organizational compliance and quality programs and policies.
    • Effective communication is achieved at all levels of the organization.
    • Continuous and successful training, monitoring, and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Utilizes effective coaching, training, and cross-functional development to ensure employees ability to accurate perform essential job functions.
  • Provides appropriate level of hands-on instruction and strategic direction to ensure employees have clear path to operational success, including development of additional management personnel.
  • Works with direct reports to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals and training objectives; ensures that all expectations are being met or exceeded; assists own management personnel with the same for their direct reports.
  • Collaborates with Business Development to provide Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and to onboard new business and renewals.
  • Communicates with executive leadership and/or other senior officials about shifting Company priorities and projects.
  • Ensures that quality and safety standards are being met or exceeded for both the Company and customers; assures that the Company's FDA and ISO requirements are met.
  • Upholds Company's policies and standards, ensuring federal, state and local regulations are followed.
  • Performs other tasks/projects as requested by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manages direct personnel; provides required training and oversight; ensures goals are met.
  • Assists direct supervisory staff in managing and facilitating the day-to-day operations.
  • Ensures adequate staffing coverage for transactional compliance and to ensure necessary levels of production/business operations; ensures training is completed in a timely manner and kept up to date.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of DC/Third Party Logistics (3PL) operations experience; experience in medical device logistics and e-commerce distribution operations.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of direct supervisory experience, including managing a workforce of 50 or more associates (employees and temporary personnel); demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well and maintain expected standards.
  • Working knowledge of DC operations, processes, and material flow methodologies.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of hazardous materials (HM) and dangerous goods (DG) a plus; international shipping experience preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with DC technology (WMS, OMS, TMS, LMS, etc.).
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service and employee management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing process documentation (flowcharts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs)); strong knowledge of LEAN and 5S principles a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of Inventory Control practices, cycle counting and inventory reconciliations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, to all levels.
Computer Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with inventory and/or warehouse management web platforms required depending on warehouse assignment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs/software.
Physical Demands:
  • Combination of sitting and standing eight (8) hours or more per day.
  • Ability to bend, reach and stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to push up to 450 pounds up a ramp.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/safety gear must be worn as needed.
Work Environment:
  • DC warehouse environment.
Travel Requirements:
  • Approximately 10% of time will be spent travelling, including overnight and out-of-state.
