A Distribution Center (DC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all warehouse activities including but not limited to receiving, replenishing and overall organization of product and activities performed in the warehouse. The DC Manager makes day-to-day decisions required to operate a highly effective and efficient distribution center. The DC Manager is also responsible for leading and fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork to maximize the efficiency of all team members and distribution center operations. This role is part of the Operations/Distribution Center team. Here's the Schedule: Sunday - Thursday: On Sunday's they start at 8:00am until 3:00pm or until the work is complete and Monday - Thursday they start at 5:00pm until 1:30am or until the work is complete. WORK TASKS A DC Manager can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job: Oversees and manages the daily distribution center activities.
- Monitors all customer order fulfillment activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversees the proper rotation, handling and quality controls of all product in the DC, keg vault and trucks to minimize damages and preserve quality.
- Ensures products are handled properly to minimize damaged and preserve quality.
- Manages the handling, rework, documentation, storage and disposal of damaged and out-of-date product.
- Oversees the truck check-in process at the end of each delivery day ensuring all returned product and empty packages are handled according to established processes and procedures.
- Monitors the receipt and storage of incoming product and the distribution center space utilization; makes corrections as needed.
- Communicates with Delivery, Sales and Shared Services teams for all DC-related activities and issues as needed.
- Maintains the security and condition of all beer and other merchandise in inventory.
- Prepares and updates required daily and weekly reports.
Promotes a safety oriented culture and corrects unsafe situations in a timely fashion.
- Oversees and monitors distribution center operations/activities ensuring proper procedures and policy adherence during their shift.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and programs.
- Ensures all related equipment is properly maintained.
- Ensures distribution center is clean and organized at all times.
Interviews, trains, evaluates and develops DC team members.
- Interviews and selects new team members as required.
- Ensures all new team members are properly trained and coached for their individual roles.
- Ensures team member safety and compliance training is completed in a timely manner and training records are maintained.
- Provides timely coaching and feedback to DC team members.
* Percent of effort is dependent work schedule/shift and DC workload. This role requires rotational shift work and will be required to work days, nights and/or weekends. QUALIFICATIONS A qualified candidate for the DC Manager role should satisfy the expectations below: REQUIRED
- High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate
- Five Plus Years of Distribution Experience
- One to Three Years Supervisory Experience
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
- Forklift and Equipment Experience and Certification
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics or Other Related Field
- Ability to Influence Others
- Class A CDL License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to pull/push a load up to 70 lbs.
- Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products.
- Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
- Requires ability to tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Driving may be required during the workday.
- Ability to operate facility equipment required for role.
- Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.
- Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate varied machinery, equipment and vehicles.
- Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate computers and various facility machinery and equipment.
