This position selects, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises distribution center staff. This position maintains consistent compliance and the appropriate application of company policies and procedures to ensure customer service, service delivery standards, and financial goals and objectives are met and/or exceeded.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesOverall management and supervision of assigned distribution center and corresponding geographic territory.Hands on management of daily operations to ensure all route delivery expectations are met consistently.Management of employees to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.Overall management of staffing including recruiting and training and on-boarding of new employees working to ensure strict and timely compliance.Oversee training to employees according to established training plans, in all phases of the distribution services operation.Conduct and supervise regular evaluations for distribution staff.Coordinate and provide safety training for distribution staff.Review and approve all Delivery Service Provider compensation, payroll ledgers and expense statements.Identify problematic operational issues before they reach crisis stage.Prioritize tasks assigned during crisis situations that may affect service to customers.Evaluate distribution staff performance.Ensure client's subscriber complaints are resolved satisfactorily before escalation.Complete analysis of service problems and subsequently create and implement service improvement plan and execution thereof.Conduct regular analysis of Distribution Center expenses to find productivity and financial improvements.Oversee the process of contracting Delivery Service Providers, including compliance to e-contracting process.Drive regularly to assist in resolution of open route activity, provide visual confirmation of delivery, assist in the demonstration of routes to Delivery Service Providers and assist at other locations as necessary.Provide oversight and participates in center warehouse operations to include maintaining high visibility on floor during operations, oversight of workflow processes, and participation in receiving, unloading, staging and distribution of product to Delivery Service Providers.Maintain strong knowledge of assigned territory.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEssential QualificationsCompetenciesDrive for Results, Priority Setting, Delegation, Building Effective Teams, Directing Others, Listening, Hiring and Staffing, Managing and Measuring Work, Managing Through Systems, Time Management, Customer Focus, Confronting Direct Reports, Motivating Others, Managing Diversity, Fairness to Direct Reports, Action Oriented, Integrity and Trust, Composure, Timely Decision Making, Conflict ManagementKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTechnical and FunctionalGood verbal and written communication skillsMust have thorough knowledge of the Independent Contractor Services AgreementComputer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Lotus NotesThe ability to prioritize, manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyFamiliar with SAP a plusRequired Physical AbilitiesAble to lift and move 30-50 lbs of newspapers multiple times on a daily basisThe understanding that the focus of the Distribution Center is to meet and/or exceed the established customer service objectivesAble to operate an automobileMust have reliable vehicle, valid driver's license in the state where residing, and automobile insurance at limits required by PCFWorking EnvironmentAble to work weekends and overnight/early morning hoursAble to work in warehouse type environmentExperience, Education and Certifications RequiredRequires 4-6 years related work experience.Bachelors Degree or equivalent.Why PCFWork for an innovative, growth-oriented organization, unafraid to take bold steps to secure its future.Work alongside passionate and innovative “can-do” team members committed to success.Work for a third-generation family-owned business that values its employees and customers above all.Be part of a transforming business, building our future as a delivery company.WORK FOR PCF.
