Job DetailsLevel Entry Job Location Distribution - Tyler, TX Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $15.00 - $17.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Warehouse Description The purpose of the East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind shall be the rehabilitation, education, training and employment of people who are blind and visually impaired, and the furtherance of their interests and welfare through programs designed to provide rehabilitation, training and employment opportunities, being wholly charitable and benevolent. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Distribution Clerk is an indirect labor support position, reporting to the Distribution Supervisor. The Distribution Clerk is primarily responsible for picking, processing and shipping customer orders per the customers' requirements on time. In addition, this individual serves as a finished goods handler and will assist in the movement and storage of finished goods at the Distribution Center. On a prescribed schedule, individual will help to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and observe the company's safety rules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES •Pull orders and physically prepare product for shipment, including all labels and documents accurately and in a timely manner. •Enter shipment information into ERP system and customer portals. •Contact carriers to provide all necessary information to arrange pickup appointments. •Load and unload trucks. •Conduct weekly cycle counts. •Process transfers and put away incoming finished goods in their assigned areas. •Maintain the finished goods in the assigned area and keep all in a clean and safe environment. •Responsible for meeting the QMS standard and following procedures and work instructions. •Interface with co-workers in planning meetings, problem resolution, strategy development and other functions as required. •Performs other related duties as required and assigned QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE •High school diploma or equivalent preferred •2 years of related experience preferred •Forklift operator experience preferred •Other combination of education and experience may be considered SKILLS •Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information, documents and procedures. •Must have basic math skills. •Must be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office Suite products and be able to operate basic office equipment. •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instruction. •Basic problem-solving skills. •Must have a driver's license and be able to obtain fork truck driver certification. •Demonstrated mastery of receiving functions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS •Individual may need to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time throughout the day •Must be able to reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. •Must be able to lift up to 40lbs •Vision should be correctable to easily perform all tasks.
