Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob Description
Perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.
Responsibilities
Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and minimal errors.
Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and Company standards covering the assigned work.
Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
Essential Skills
Thorough knowledge of practices and procedures in one or more of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, CADD.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Utility design, Electrical design, GIS, and CAD.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required if no degree.
Demonstrated leadership and technical capability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate Degree or the equivalent in a technical field preferred.
Experience in Gahanna location preferred.
Experience in distribution engineering, civil, substation design, transmission design, mechanical design, survey, protective relay, and instrumentation controls.
Work Environment
In office with the opportunity for flex hours once trained. Opportunity to work two days from home once trained and at the discretion of the supervisor.
