Position Summary: Carry out analysis to understand trends, product, customers, route structures, and costs of distribution. Model and redesign the distribution structure to improve efficiencies, maximize growth, and reduce costs.
Key Job Responsibilities: Lead Distribution Engineering Department in their efforts to:
- Develop/Promote efficiency improvements based on in depth understanding of products, customers, service time investments, Sales Centers, and various measurements of the route distribution system.
- Develop, document and enable standard operating procedures related to the constructing of product and customer strategies while developing route distribution systems around these strategies.
- Identify waste areas in the distribution system.
- Ability to redesign the distribution system to maximize growth and to reduce waste in the system leveraging highly specialized optimization software.
- Understanding of Sales Centers, product mix, and areas serviced.
- Ability to learn and to use strategic and dynamic distribution restructure tools.
- Ability to communicate and work with project teams to review present, proposed restructures and their financial impacts.
- Develop project presentations clearly describing goals, methodology, analysis results and recommendations for presentation to all levels of management involved.
- Responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe environment through compliance of all Company, Local, State and Federal mandates or programs.
- 25% Travel and overnight stays required.

Key Behavioral Competencies: - Understanding of bakery distribution processes/systems from the bakeries/DCs through Sales Center and into retail stores.
- In Depth Knowledge of BBU's Data Warehouses, data & Got-To-Market business structures
- Strong computer skills with extensive use of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Analytical and interpersonal skills to carry out projects.
- Able to self-direct projects and manage time.
- Understanding of and experience with distribution planning tools and distribution structure design is desired.
Education and Work History: - Bachelor's level degree preferred in Industrial Engineering or related field. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- 5 - 7 years engineering/processes optimization related experience in DSD/Go-To Market environment.
Physical Demands: - Able to use a variety of communication methods on frequent basis.
- Use a notebook computer and standard office equipment printers, fax, phone etc.
- Able to sit, stand, stoop and have use of hand motor coordination regularly.
- Use various forms of transportation for extended periods of time on periodic basis.
