Job Description:
DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)
  • Daily communication with all workers to ensure all the objectives for the day are met in a timely manner
  • Use the current reports to make management decisions and changes to staff and routes
  • Productivity within Warehouse (orders shipped, errors, transactions, etc.)
  • Drivers performance (miles per gallon, idle time %, etc.)
  • Material Handling for incoming materials - Oversee that incoming materials have been properly received and put away in preparation for the picking crew
  • Shipping - to ensure that all daily orders have been routed and shipped
  • Review delivery routes annually with the Transportation Director and Director of Distribution
  • Review and maintain all reports that are your responsibility
  • Maintain appropriate staffing based on our seasonal business - Work with Human Resources and Distribution Management for approvals
  • Ensure good communication between Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, Credit and all other Warehouses to ensure that customers commitments have been satisfied
  • Maintain a positive and clean work environment in conjunction with maintaining all safety procedures
  • Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, buildings and grounds
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed to ensure Customer satisfaction
  • Respond promptly to all email and phone messages from your Managers and other Departments
  • Perform Monthly and Yearly Performance reviews on all employees
  • Regular communication with the Regional Distribution Manager and Director of Distribution
  • All other tasks as assigned by Management (see attachment)
A DISTRIBUTION MANAGER WILL POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE:
  • Lead and promote safety culture which aligns with Wausau Supply Co. core values
  • Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and especially by e-mail
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating leadership skills that portray excellent team work mentality
  • Overall safety mindset is crucial to create an imbedded culture of safety within the employee population.

SOME ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Assist with Plan B when the warehouse loses connectivity
  • Assist with the Warehouse Training Support Team
  • Assist with Will Calls
  • Oversee/Take care of Inventory Balance Report (WLRB)(depends on if you have a support person)
  • Oversee/Take care of Transfer Exception Report (WTRE)(depends on if you have a support person)
  • Oversee/Take care of Ship Verification daily (depends on if there is a night crew)
  • Take care of Open Orders Report
  • Take care of Rejected Returns & Damaged Items
  • Take care of Open/Active PO receipts
  • Take care of Stock Replenishment Report
  • Take care of Rack and Pallet Returns Report
  • Ensure the Cycle counts are done and reports are ran to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain a POD file
  • Preform daily walk-through's of the warehouse checking for cleanness and that everything is in its place
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORKING DEMANDS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time
