**Description**
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Material Handler assists the department by retrieving and returning materials for the slitting crews. This position would ensure finishing equipment is working appropriately and assists in weekly inventory procedures.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3:00am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create tow motor inspection reports
Ensure finishing equipment is working correctly and create repair work orders/notifications
Ensure proper materials such as cartons, cores, spacers, bags, films, labels, end pieces, and pallets are available and inventoried
Retrieve and/or return supplies, materials, and cores for slitter crews and other locations
Load and unload elevator
Instruct trainees in all phases of material handling and record keeping
Receive and maintain material in designated storage areas
Assist slitter crew/packer when/if needed
Make suggestions on reducing costs, improving safety, and/or improving product or process

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Valid tow motor license
Valid NC driver's license
Ability to operate waste baler and manual and/or electric pallet jacks
Knowledge of productions schedules and material requirements
Excellent organization and prioritization skills
Basic computer skills and knowledge of SAP, data entry experience, basic math skills with familiarity of decimals and percentages
Medium skill and a high degree of manual dexterity
Self-motivated, detail oriented, requires minimal supervision, safety conscious, and a team player
