Job DescriptionResponsible for supporting various functions within the Distribution Operation. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilizing WCS devices or RF devices to pick contact lens orders, operating an Auto Pack Station (APS), and shipping customerorders. Daily business will dictate the amount of time spent doing a particular job function; incumbent may spend 100% of the day on 1 job function, or it may be split into multiple areas depending on the volumes with the department(s). Will work under close supervision.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions & Accountabilities
- Performs operations and functions across multiple departments at the distribution center in support of order fulfillment and
- customer service.
- Works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers.
- Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times, notifies Supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in
- accordance with company policy.
- Interfaces with all levels of personnel and works independently as well as in a team environment.
- Immediately informs Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager of safety, sanitation, and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.
- Meets or exceeds established standards in all areas of responsibilities.
- Demonstrates good communication skills, reliability and flexibility.
- Works effectively in a team environment.
- Complies to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.
- As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.
This role is responsible for performing various operations and functions across multiple distribution departments in support of best in class service experience for CVI's business partners, customers and end users; position will require movement between the distribution departments based on the fluidity of volume within operations.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Able to learn/understand/utilize BAAN (ERP), JDA - Warehouse Management System, Carrier(s) Software.• Able to utilize: (RF) scanner, headset or other WCS tools/devices, tape gun, utility knife, ladder, step stool, zebra printer, and various packing components.• Able to perform basic mathematics and problem solving activities. • Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office. • Troubleshooting skills, with an ability to work in a team-based environment, follow direction, Work Environment: Noisy conditions - 50-75%Hot or humid conditions - >75%Exposure to extreme seasonal temperatures - > 75% Work near moving mechanical parts - > 75%Physical Demands: Time spent in the following Physical Activities:Standing - > 75%Sitting - < 25% Walking - > 50-75% Climbing - 20 steps - < 25-50%Bending - 8 above floor < 25-50%Squatting - 2 above floor 75%Hand/eye coordination - >75%Finger/wrist dexterity - > 75%Grasping/pinching - > 75%Coupling - 30# - >75%Experience:
- Previous warehouse experience and/or knowledge of courier systems preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma required.
