Position Title: Distribution Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Reports to: On-Site Manager
Position Purpose and Objectives
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Distribution Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join our team. This role involves overseeing the shipping and receiving operations within our distribution center to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of orders and inventory. The successful candidate will lead a team of shipping and receiving clerks, collaborate with other departments, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of shipping and receiving clerks.
* Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to staff.
* Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
* Oversee the preparation, packaging, and shipping of orders.
* Ensure all shipments meet quality and accuracy standards.
* Coordinate with carriers and manage shipping schedules.
* Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming shipments.
* Ensure accurate documentation and timely update of inventory records.
* Address any discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
* Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support order fulfillment.
* Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
* Implement procedures to minimize inventory discrepancies and loss.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve workflows.
* Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
* Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills and Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
* Proven experience in a shipping and receiving supervisory role, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
* Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other related software.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
