Job Description:
SUMMARY: Responsible for receipt, storage, and shipping of packaging process samples. Executes international shipments of finished goods, samples, components, etc. Provides 3PL services to act as the distributor of finished goods to commercial locations for 3PL customers. Completes special projects as needed including shipping studies, relabeling, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of minimum responsibilities related to the Distribution Specialist I position. Other duties may also be assigned. Receiving Receives packaging process samples by verifying accuracy of product and paperwork, updates Smartsheet to document receipt, perform QAD transaction for product transfer, scans product paperwork to shared folder, and works with internal team members to resolve any discrepancies. Move product and corresponding paperwork to appropriate storage location (via hand, forklift, or pallet jack) until shipment can occur. Operates Radio Frequency (R.F.) gun to store, retrieve and transfer product and components. Shipping Coordinates the preparation of goods for shipment including staging on the dock, labeling, bill of lading and packing slip preparation and appropriate inventory management transactions. Reviews product and shipping paperwork for accuracy. Follows customer specific instructions to pack shipment including qualified shipper prep/assembly, temp monitor placement, and taking/uploading images of staged product. Reviews shipping documents for international shipments which can include customs documents for Import/Export and proper declarations for shipping hazardous material via air transport. Creates shipping label through shipping software or schedules shipment with the carrier. Inspects trailer or refrigerated container prior to loading, documenting conditions and temperature when necessary. Load pallet(s), active/passive containers, or qualified shippers on carrier equipment via forklift (by hand or pallet jack as needed). Completes necessary paperwork and distributes completed documents to the driver then scans to shared folder for filing. Perform QAD transactions to close sales order in the system. File all physical shipping paperwork according to cGMP standards. 3PL Receipt of finished good product to be stored for daily distribution. Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory counts for both product and customer supplied shipping materials. Generate customer specific packing slips for daily shipments. Communicate via email the outgoing shipments and daily inventory to the customer and shipping material supplier. Address any issues or concerns via phone or email as needed. Handle the coordination of all 3PL returns by researching with customer and identifying best path forward. Attend weekly meetings with all stakeholders to review project status. Stakeholders to include customers, vendors, project managers, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; six to twelve months warehouse/distribution experience required. Forklift certification required. Hazmat/IATA certification a plus. Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office required. Previous employment in a cGMP compliant facility preferred.
