Job Description:
Position OverviewApollo is seeking an Associate for our Distributor & Wealth Services Department located in New York. The DWS Department is the primary point of contact for all investment operations questions for all products (supporting Private Equity, Non-Traded REIT, Business Development Company and Interval Funds, among others) working closely with Sales, Transfer Agents, Third Party Administrators, Advisors, and other Financial Intermediaries.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver consistent messaging related to operational policies and procedures to support financial advisor, back office, investor, and internal sales inquiries ensuring service excellence.
  • Assist distribution partners with investment paperwork processing by ensuring that all is received in good order. This will include communicating with financial advisors, broker/dealers, and other financial institutions.
  • Conducts high level analysis to identify and resolve work processing issues while examining processes to streamline operations.
  • Reconcile daily trades for potential trade errors that could lead to gain/loss scenarios or cancel rebills.
  • Validate or prepare reporting for ad hoc requests for management.
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions and gathering information to evaluate and provide recommendations to improved processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve identified issues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Communications required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within Financial Services, including Operations with exposure to trade reconciliation and customer service.
  • Understanding of the financial service, private equity, or investment banking sectors.
  • Knowledge of Financial Trading and Clearing Processes for Alternative Investments or Mutual Funds preferred.
  • Experience with transfer agent and/or third-party administrators.
  • Ambitious, adaptive and agile learner.
  • Motivated individuals who thrive in a high volume, fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve internal differences and observe confidentiality.
  • Flexible and adaptive to shifting priorities.
  • Skilled in Office suite of applications: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Pay Range90,000 - 125,000The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
