District Business ManagerJob Status: Full-timeReports to: SuperintendentWork Schedule: 240-day contract working Tuesday through Friday (7:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.)Vacation: 80 hours annuallyPaid Sick/Personal Leave: 96 hours annuallySalary Range: Step 1- $53,154 to Step 16 - $60,648Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Balance sheet* Cash requirements* Federal/Categorical program financial reporting* Assist with salary redistribution as needed* Write and run Cognos reports* Run financial accounting reports* Monthly bank reconciliations* Complete cycle reporting for financial management system (cycles 1, 7, 8, and 9)* Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Education* Implement analytical procedures to evaluate district finances* Manage district inventory procedures* Assist in close out of the calendar year end processes, W2 preparation, and fiscal year-end* Assist with general office duties* Answer phone calls from employees, the public, and vendors* Assist with gathering information for auditors* Monitor internal controls* Assist with training district staff on financial procedures* Work with the Federal Programs Coordinator regarding the federal grants management system (FGMS) and budgets in eFinance/APSCN* On-board new employees (background checks, IRS forms, etc.)* Maintain ASBA policies and other State Required Information on the district website* Maintain records on all employee background check/licensure renewals* Others duties as assigned by the SuperintendentSkills and AbilitiesEducation: The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's degree or higher, but other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements; prefer CASBO certification.Experience: Prefer five (5) years of experience in accounting, financial management, or a related area. Knowledge and understanding of the Arkansas Public School Financial Handbook and SIS (State Information System) and COGNOS Reporting System.Computer Skills: Proficient use of MS EXCEL, MS WORD, and other FMS programs required, with the ability to acquire additional computer skills as necessary with minimal outside assistance. eFinance software experience preferred.Certificates & Licenses: Certified Arkansas School Business Official certification preferred. If not CASBO certified at the time of hire, must complete the CASBO certification program as prescribed by the ADE Rules Governing Minimum Qualifications for General Business Managers of Public School Districts.Other Requirements:* Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy while working under pressure* Work using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)* Interpret and apply the provisions of all laws, rules, and policies to accounting transactions* Analyze financial information and prepare reports* Provide guidance and technical assistance to principals, coordinators, directors, and superintendent, staff, and the general public regarding accounting operations* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems and controls, identify problems, and devise corrective actions* Uphold employee student, and district confidentiality, and data privacy policies, laws, rules* Work beyond hours of 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, as directed by the Superintendent* Attend all monthly school board meetings and present monthly financial reportThe Guy-Perkins School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
