Position Type: Career and TechnologyDate Posted: 6/28/2024Location: Longview Independent School DistrictPRIMARY PURPOSE: Develop instruction plan and teach classes in Game Development, create a gaming pathway using the Gearbox and other curriculum pathways, to help children ages 6-12 unleash their creativity while promoting a fun and safe environment. Provide instructional and technical support to CTE teachers and programs in the following Career Clusters, Arts, A/V Technology and Communications (AAVTC), and Middle School Career Development. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: 1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching cetification preferred 2. Masters Degree in Educational Administration or instruction preferred Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A problem-solving mindset with excellent written and verbal skills
- Solid grasp of game development, technologies, and trends
- Thorough understanding of social media trends and analytics
- Solid experience with community-building programs and initiatives
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional
Minimum Experience: Five or more years of teaching experience in a Career and Technical Education area;three years of Career and Technical Education administrative experience preferred MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Provide instructional and technical support to CTE teachers and programs in the following Career Clusters, Arts, A/V Technology and Communications (AAVTC) , and Middle School Career Development 2. Coordinate with CTE teachers and other core curriculum departments for integrated programs 3. Monitor and document assigned Career Cluster programs for the compliance issues and instructional quality 4. Work with College and Career Readiness and Career and Technical Education team members, business partners, campus leadership, and teachers to evaluate, improve, and build quality Career and Technical programs 5. Assist with dual credit, tech-prep, and membership opportunities for your assigned Career Cluster areas 6. Assist teachers in assigned areas with identifying and securing appropriate resources 7. Monitor effective utilization of funding resources 8. Recommend qualified personnel for employment 9. Keep abreast and inform teachers of current and emerging professional trends and developments affecting Career and Technical Education curriculum and instruction 10. Work with other Career Education and Workforce Partnership team members on activities and projects related to Career and Technical Education and District improvement targets Consultation 11. Consult parents, teachers, administrators, and other appropriate individuals to enhance their work with students 12. Work with school personnel and school district residents to obtain resources for students 13. Use an effective referral process to help students and others use special programs and services Administration 14. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy in guidance and counseling area 15.
