Job Description:
Position Summary The District Inventory Support role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing inventory activities across all stores or locations within a district. This includes managing inventory levels, assisting in inventory audits, analyzing data, and supporting the implementation of inventory control procedures. The role aims to optimize inventory accuracy, minimize shrinkage, and ensure all inventory processes comply with company standards. Core Duties / Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management
    • Establish and maintain proper inventory levels and controls.
    • Ordering of parts, fittings, tools and equipment.
    • Warehouse cleanliness and organization.
    • Service work follow up, including ordering, pricing and follow up with customers.
    • Assist in reviewing, processing and billing of completed work orders.
    • Track and report on inventory metrics such as shrinkage, turnover rates, and stock levels.
    • Assist in planning and forecasting inventory needs based on sales trends upcoming work orders.
  • Audit and Compliance
    • Support periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
    • Investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and systems records.
    • Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with District and General Managers and staff to identify and address inventory issues.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare and present inventory reports to District and Regional leadership.
    • Provide recommendations on inventory optimization strategies.
  • Training & Support
    • Provide training and guidance to distribution location teams on best practices for inventory management.
    • Assist with onboarding new staff regarding inventory procedures.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related questions and issues within the district.
  • Process Improvement
    • Collaborate with District and General Management to develop and implement improved inventory processes.
    • Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and recommend improvements.
    • Support the roll-out of new inventory management tools and technologies.
Other additional and/or alternate duties as assigned from time-to-time; including supporting other departments or executives as needed. Position QualificationsExperience/EducationRequired Education: High School Diploma/GED or parallel work experience Work Experience Preferred: Propane/Oil Industry and HVAC Supplemental Experience: Hands on field experience in HVAC industry Required Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesMicrosoft Applications: Intermediate functionality in Microsoft Suite Additional Technology: Intermediate computer literacy and application Travel: Local Travel Required Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required Additional Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and oil/delivery services.
  • Propane industry experience.
  • Assist technicians as needed.
  • Assist with billing/posting of work orders.
  • Delivery/pickup of emergency parts and supplies.
  • Cross-functional computer skills.
  • Adaptation to new digital programs.
  • Time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Someone who exhibits sound judgement with the ability to prioritize and understands when to escalate and when to make decisions.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Take responsibility regarding all aspects of daily tasks and actions.
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Ensure all daily work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must be dependable with a stable work history.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be a proactive initiator.
  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
  • Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers. Maintain professionalism, integrity, security, image and confidentiality of information and records as required by the position.
  • Complete all PERC and other online training in a timely manner.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
