Job Summary DEFINITION Under the direction of the Special Education Director/Student Support Services Director, the District Nurse conducts a professional health service program for the health maintenance, evaluation, improvement, and protection of the school community, pupils, and families in accordance with state law and district policies, regulations, and procedures; strengthens and facilitates the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of children and by identification and assistance in the removal or modification of health-related barriers to learning in individual children. Requirements / Qualifications Licenses/Certification/Special Requirements: - Possess and maintain a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a School Nurse. - Possess and maintain a current healthcare provider Basic Life Support Certification. - Possession of a Valid California Driver's License. - School Audiometric Certification desired.
