All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in these positions must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is until the position is filled.PRIMARY PURPOSE: Work under the immediate guidance and direction of a licensed registered nurse to maintain routine clinic records, provide minor first aid care, and conduct health screenings.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Provide minor first aid services at the assigned campus and other requested campuses under the guidance of the registered school nurse, nurse coordinator, and/or Health Services administrative staff.* Provide emergency medical care to students.* Assist and perform routine screening tests (hearing/vision, etc.) throughout the district as requested.* Maintain security and control of medications and dispense medications as instructed.* Assist in the collection of required health data and in the preparation of health reports.* Observe students for signs of illness and consult campus nurses or administrative staff as required.* Assist in maintaining campus health records and in clerical duties.* Have regular attendance.* Perform other duties as assigned.Note: Not all applicants will be interviewed. Only those persons currently meeting all of the minimum requirements will be screened.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certificate:High school graduate or equivalentMust have completed a basic first aid course and C.P.R. certification. (Provisions can be made to complete this requirement.)Special Knowledge/Skills:Must possess basic clerical skillsMust perform duties with a minimum of supervision.Previous experience in schools and/or medical fields is a plus.EQUIPMENT USED: Blood pressure cuff; stethoscope; oxygen tank; scale, equipment needed for vision, hearing and spinal screening, and other health equipment as required by specific student needs.WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of a computer. Limited bending and stooping. Must be able to potentially lift heavy items (up to 45 pounds). Normal environment. Exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.
