  • Initiate innovations with respect to process and equipment modifications or changes, which improve operating conditions, safety, energy conservation, environmental concerns, and/or profitability
  • Provide technical and engineering assistance to Process Operations at Grain Processing Corporation
  • Manage capital and expense projects from conception to production, including preparation of financial justification, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking all spending related to the project
  • Develop maintenance and operator training documentation, conduct equipment qualification and initial training of production personnel, and make provisions for repair parts stocking levels.
  • Work with the Division Superintendent to represent the interests of the Production Department in discussions with the Engineering, Process Development, and Research Departments on changes or new installations in the division
  • Project management tasks such as: purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects
  • Monitor process equipment downtime records to identify troublesome equipment and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Calculate material balances when processes change or when directed by Division Superintendent
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred -other engineering disciplines may be considered.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of Engineering work in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel)
  • Project managementSkills
  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Travel
  • Limited travel (up to 10%) for training or to support business needs
