Transitional Services for New York, Inc., not-for-profit, is a comprehensive, community-based mental health organization located in New York City. We provide a continuum of rehabilitative services to enrich the lives of those recovering from mental illness and facilitate theirtransition to increased levels of independence. Transitional Services for New York, Inc. envisions broadening its rehabilitative services and becoming a regional social service provider. Transitional Services for New York Staff will deliver effective programs with compassion, integrity, and professionalism. TSINY, a mental health services agency, is seeking Divisional Director, Residential Development and Property Management for its Administrative offices located in Whitestone (Queens), New York. Local travel between Programs and Properties may be required.

Salary: $120,000 annually, Full-Time

Position Summary

Function as part of a team overseeing TSINY's facilities development, capital project activities, property and facilities management and operations, and tenant relations. Responsible for locating properties for purchase or rent to meet the needs of the Agency.

Essential Functions
  • Study property listings, visit property sites, discuss conditions of sale and coordinate leasing or contracts of sale.
  • Oversee all new facility development and rehabilitation, including working closely with architects, engineers, TSINY owner's representatives, and funding sources during pre-development, construction, and initial occupancy.
  • Seek alternative funding sources to maximize development needs.
  • Supervise the Director, Facilities Management.
  • Supervise the Director of Tenant Affairs.
  • Supervise the Project Director for Housing Development & Redevelopment.
  • Meet with the Chief Executive Office to present completed work and review any outstanding issues.
  • Supervise/assist with tasks at various work sites as needed.
Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities

Bachelor's degree plus one year's experience or Associate's degree plus three years' progressively responsible positions in Facilities Management. General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating and building operations. Current valid New York State Driver's License and a safe driving history. Computer literacy a plus.

  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Be able to write professional reports and correspondence.
  • Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Driver's license required.
  • During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
